How to Run Without Foot Pain

What is the number one complaint of runners? Plantar fasciitis. This pain can stop you dead in your tracks and it has been my constant nagging companion for the last 10 years.

I started and stopped running multiple times in my life due to a variety of reasons. Each time I stopped I tried to convince myself it was for the best. No more pounding of my body, no more early morning wake-ups, and no more foot pain.

Then I would see a runner and the itch to get back on the road returned. I tried the Elliptical but did not like spending precious time scrolling through Netflix looking for shows to keep me entertained and motivated. I wanted to be outside and running. I missed the changing scenery, sunrises, and the sounds of nature. Whatever the reason I could not seem to give up running. Therefore I had to find a solution to plantar fasciitis — my running nemesis.

About twenty years ago I was a faithful runner. Previously I had dabbled in running but a few years after my third child I became a consistent runner. My sister-in-law suggested a family 5K on the 4th of July. Not wanting to be the last one past the finish line, I did a little training and quickly became hooked.
